About Us

Allergy is a modified response of the body to certain factors (allergens). Allergies can be caused by literally everything that surrounds us: household chemicals, animal hair, food, dust, feathers, cosmetics, alcohol and even cold and sunlight.

How does an allergy manifest itself

Allergic diseases confidently come in one of the first places in terms of prevalence. Studies show that 10 to 30% of people on the planet are allergic. Bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis (runny nose), dermatitis and hives, conjunctivitis and oedema are among the leading diseases in this area.

Allergy can be suspected of symptoms: stuffy nose, runny nose, itchy nose, frequent sneezing, itchy eyelids, tears, “sand” in the eyes, red eyes, sore throat, coughing, suffocation, dry skin, swelling of the eyelids, lips, other parts of the body. They often go to the doctor with a rash and itchy skin, which is not caused by an allergy, but are symptoms of many other diseases.

Where do allergies come from?

The nature of allergies remains a mystery in many ways. It can arise suddenly and pass just as suddenly. But mostly the nature of the allergy is immunological and lies in the violation of the immune response. Allergies often occur in people who are predisposed to them. The disease itself is not inherited, only the propensity for it is transmitted.

If the mother or father is allergic, the child may also develop allergies in 30% of cases. Or it may not develop or it may develop significantly later in adulthood. This can happen as a result of a gene mutation. Often “late” allergies can occur in a person as a result of constant stressful situations.

Can the allergy stop on its own? Yes, it can. Or it will decrease with time: it all depends on the amount of immunoglobulin E in the blood, which changes with age. It’s believed that taking antibiotics affects the allergy propensity.

How to detect allergies

The first stage is to collect anamnesis, a lengthy questioning of the patient. And the more a doctor asks, the better a doctor. Run away from allergists who do not ask you many questions, but immediately prescribe expensive tests. The next step is an allergic hand test, the so-called scarifying test. This test is used to identify the allergen that caused the reaction and the degree of sensitization to it. The person’s hand is lightly scratched and a drop of the allergen solution is applied to each of them. And they watch the reaction.

Allergies are treatable!

The first thing to do is remove the cause. If you’re allergic to cats, don’t start them at home. There’s a reaction to flowering – don’t walk in parks and woods, keep the windows closed.

There are five allergens to which cats are allerginated: cereals, pollen from trees, mites, weeds and mould. In small doses, an allergen is injected into the body, the body gets used to it and stops responding to it in a non-standard way. Vaccinations can be in the form of drops, injections, pills. With the help of vaccinations can get rid of the disease forever or for many years, and then the treatment repeated.

Symptoms of allergies are treated with a wide range of medications, of which to choose those that do not cause drowsiness and operate for 24 hours. If the symptoms do not make life too difficult, it is not necessary to treat them. But remember that allergic rhinitis can develop into asthma or expand the spectrum other allergens will join.
