Introduction, Epidemiology, History Anaphylaxis was described in 1901 by Charles Richette and Paul Portier as the result of a study of the poison of a sea urchin (for which the first received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1913). They administered the poison to dogs and found that they were hypersensitive to the
